Message From The President

  • ANNUAL CHARITY DRIVE PLEDGE

Hello to all of our members. The summer seemed to fly by and we are rapidly approaching the holiday season.  We hope all of you are doing well, healthy and prosperous in your businesses.

The board of directors wanted to make a special request to the entire membership for this year’s Charity Drive in the hopes of generating our best turnout ever.  As most of you know, we have been supporting two Long Island charitable organizations for the past 4-5 years in our endeavors to “give back” to the very communities in which we operate our businesses.  The Light House Mission and the Integrity Christian Fellowship (located right on Old Dock Rd) provides clothes, food and various donations to a large amount of less fortunate people right in our own backyard.

We understand that in recent years the economy was tough, and donations were less than what they might have been.  We also greatly appreciate the support we have received thus far, however, it appears that the same businesses contribute each year, while the majority of our membership does not.  We have averaged a participation rate in the past of less than 30 % and in the past two years that has dropped to less than 20 %.

We are urging all of our members this year to try their best to support these two fine charitable organizations.  With that in mind, we are setting a goal of at least 90% participation in this year’s charity drive.  Donations include dry food items, personal toiletries (tooth brushes, razors for shaving, tooth paste, lotion, etc.), gift cards and as well as checks made out to either organization are acceptable.  As little as $20 from a business helps our mission!!

As we head into the holidays, let’s try to remember how fortunate we all have been to own, manage or be a part of our businesses, and to try our best to give back to these communities who are in great need of support during this upcoming holiday season and throughout the year.

The drop off point for donations will once again be at Anthony’s Closets at 22 Old Dock Rd.  We will arrange a cutoff date for donations, as well as a final pickup date from Light House Mission and Integrity Christian Fellowship.

Thank you to all of our members who have consistently and very generously, provided support and donations through the years.  Here’s to a holiday season and a charity drive that reaches our goal of 90 % participation.  Thank you and Happy Holidays.

    Best Regards,

    B.I.G. Board of Directors

BECOME A MEMBER
  • Dear Prospective Member:

Established in 2003, The Sills Industrial Park Association (SIPA) is pleased to announce that we have changed association's name to the Brookhaven Industrial Group Inc. (BIG) to better symbolize our planned expansion. Once consisting of those companies in the industrial park only, we are now encompassing a larger geographical area. With this name change, a myriad of new possibilities consisting of new and exciting projects and better environmental services are possible for us.  As the Brookhaven Industrial Group, we will address our requests and concerns to the Town of Brookhaven to preserve the value of our properties with a larger and stronger voice.

Further benefits of membership are networking with business owners for group acquisition of products and services, inter-company trading opportunities as well as having a voice in the future of our businesses in the Town of Brookhaven. BIG has guest speakers, from various organizations, speak at our meetings to educate and inform our members about products and services available to us. Companies such as Optimum/Cablevision, Verizon, Suffolk County Police Department, various service companies as well as local Town Officials have spoken to our group.

We would be delighted if you would contemplate joining our group. So plan to attend our next meeting to see for yourself how we can work together. The annual membership dues are only  $100.
