    Our General Meeting Luncheon will be January 19th, 2012 at 11:45 am at McKeon Door Company located at 44 Sawgrass Drive, Bellport.  We are pleased to announce that John L. Kominicki president and publisher of Long Island Business News will be our guest speaker.  Long Island Business News is a diverse newspaper, magazine and specialty publishing company that has served the region since 1953. 

    John also serves as director of editorial operations for the firm’s corporate parent, Dolan Media Co. of Minneapolis, which owns more than 75 law, business and specialty publications across the country.

    Before coming to Long Island, Mr. Kominicki ran business newspapers in Fort Worth, Texas and Oklahoma City, Okla. Prior to joining the business side of publishing, he was a longtime writer and editor for such publications as European Stars and Stripes, the New York Times, USA Today, and the Dallas Morning News, among others.

    Mr. Kominicki serves on a variety of local boards, including the Long Island Association, the Long Island Business Development Council and LISTnet.

    He has been named an advocate for small business by the Small Business Administration and was honored as a Distinguished Citizen by Dowling College, from which he received an honorary doctorate of humane letters.

    In June 2008, the Press Club of Long Island presented Mr. Kominicki with its Journalist of the Year Award and his community and charitable work have garnered him numerous other honors.

  • Dear Prospective Member:

    Established in 2003, The Sills Industrial Park Association (SIPA) is pleased to announce that we have changed association's name to the Brookhaven Industrial Group Inc. (BIG) to better symbolize our planned expansion. Once consisting of those companies in the industrial park only, we are now encompassing a larger geographical area. With this name change, a myriad of new possibilities consisting of new and exciting projects and better environmental services are possible for us.  As the Brookhaven Industrial Group, we will address our requests and concerns to the Town of Brookhaven to preserve the value of our properties with a larger and stronger voice.

    Further benefits of membership are networking with business owners for group acquisition of products and services, inter-company trading opportunities as well as having a voice in the future of our businesses in the Town of Brookhaven. BIG has guest speakers, from various organizations, speak at our meetings to educate and inform our members about products and services available to us. Companies such as Optimum/Cablevision, Verizon, Suffolk County Police Department, various service companies as well as local Town Officials have spoken to our group. 

    Our meetings are held every other month except for July and August.   Our next general meeting will be Thursday, January 20th, 2011, at a location to be annouced.

    We would be delighted if you would contemplate joining our group. So plan to attend our next meeting to see for yourself how we can work together. The annual membership dues are only  $100.
